THE HOUSE BUNNY debuted in number one on Friday,
taking in 5.85 million.
Returning film TROPIC
THUNDER added another 4.8 million, taking its total to 54.3
million. The prospects of this film are still touch and go as the
production budget was 92 million.
DEATH RACE opened to the number three spot, taking
in 4.5 million. Paul WS Anderson keeps getting budgets to make films
so this is yet another example of more to come.
THE
DARK KNIGHT is still going strong, coming in at fourth place
with 3 million, taking its total to 481.8 million.
THE PINEAPPLE EXPRESS is still performing
strongly, adding another 1.67 million for a current total of 70
million against a 27 million budget.
STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS is dropping
fast, only adding another 1.5 million to its 20 million total. This
is being seen as a misfire and will likely bow out of the top 10
next week.
The North American box office in total
took in 26.9 million for the whole of Friday 22nd August 2008.
