The big story for this weekend, and the reason behind the dramatic increase in box office revenue compared to last weekend was the huge opening of MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA. We haven't had a big opening like this since the summer and its impressive 63.5M haul for the weekend will more than likely guarantee another sequel in this profitable franchise.
