After a record-breaking run at the
North American box office, it seems that The
Dark Knight is starting to get to the end of its run, having
now posted its first sub-million day for Wednesday 27th August with
$986,453. However, it should be noted that the Caped Crusader still
finished in third position which is still incredibly impressive
given the nature of front loaded box office runs that prevail in
this day and age.
The Dark Knight is currently sitting
with a total of 492.6 million which represents 82% of the box office
for current reigning domestic box office champ, TITANIC. It won't
get there, but it should settle nicely in to second position with
around 520 million. Not a bad effort at all considering the Batman
franchise took such a huge nose dive only a decade ago with the
horrendous Batman
and Robin.
