Friday saw a 60% decrease in box office
revenue over the previous Friday.
1. The Blind Side - $6.8M
2. The Twilight Saga:
New Moon - $5.2M
3. Brothers - $3.5M
4. Armored - $2.4M
5. Old Dogs - $2.06M
6. 2012 - $2M
7. A Christmas Carol (2009) - $1.9M
8. Ninja Assassin - $1.6M
9. Everybody's Fine - $1.3M
10. Planet 51 - $1M
The box office put in a far more subdued
performance this Friday, although it still threw up one big surprise.
THE BLIND SIDE, after doing the unthinkable
last week by increasing its audience over the previous week, now switches
places with NEW MOON
to take out top spot for Friday. Although down on last Friday, the
estimated $6.8 million take of THE BLIND SIDE was enough to see it
push past NEW MOON
as the vampire flick loses audience fast. The Sandra Bullock football
drama has proved to be an impressive winner for the ailing star who
has had a stellar comeback this year when combined with her earlier
film this year, THE
PROPOSAL. As for NEW
MOON, the mainstream audience have abandoned it rather quickly,
and most of the fan girls have seen it, leaving its box office pace
dwindling, although it is not hurting too much as its total gross
is now $245 million.
A couple of new films entered the Top
10 on Friday, none of which made much impact on the box office. These
included BROTHERS, ARMORED and EVERYBODY'S FINE.

wrap-up of the weekend box office in North America for 4th-6th December
2009.
The Top 10 at the North American box
office took in an estimated total of $27.8 million for the whole of
Friday 4th December 2009.
