The Brain That Wouldn't Die - The Ultimate Grindhouse Horror Movie

The Brain That Wouldn't Die is an awesome movie. If you have never seen this one, you need to find it fast. There is a wonderful Mystery Science Theater 3000 version out there as well as the original. I recommend you see the original one first, then watch the MST3K version, it will give you a focal point when the guys at MST rip on the movie.

The movie starts off with our hero played by Herb Evers a talented doctor who gets the opportunity to show off his skills as a surgeon and save a hopelessly lost patient. We later find his "skills" have a dark side. The doctor keeps his dark side locked up at the lab, where some scary stuff goes on. The doctor must race to the lab one day with his girlfriend and the road - racing doc has an accident which cuts off the head of his lady. Undaunted, he wraps her head up and plops her in a pan of neck juice, and viola, you have Jan in the pan. The neck juice and several tubes keep her alive while the doctor goes about finding a replacement body for his babe. The doctor is on a mission to find some hottie bimbo with a bodacious bod to give his baby something to hang her head on. The doc goes body shopping. Looking at babes on the streets, strip joints and finally gets a girlie-model as a replacement.

The model has a hot bod which she flaunts in a leopard print bikini, but she has a scarred face. The doc tells her he can fix her face at his lab and lures her into his lab of horrors. This is where all the fun begins and it also will be his undoing. Jan in the pan finds she is able to use mind control over one of the doc's failed experiments, a horrible assemblage of body parts put together in a botched experiment. Let's just say the doc's little party gets hot and out of control in the finale.

This sleaze fest is a riot and has entertained generations with it's campy, lurid and often laughable plot. Get a biggie pizza, some cold beverages and your movie buddy and get ready for some lurid cinema at its best. I rate this movie as a 10. It does not get any better boys & ghouls, no way!
