Thrilling
film about an ex-marksman framed by the very Government he has served
loyally for many years.
THE
GOOD: This
film has a lot of things going for it. The previews of this film
gave the appearance of a quality action film but we actually get
a storyline with it as well! Shock, horror... The story of this
film is quite layered and intriguing, as we follow Wahlberg's journey
to find out who set him up. It leads him to a conspiracy within
the Federal Government going back to one of his earlier missions
as an assassin which led to the death of his spotter. Danny Glover
puts in an uncharacteristic bad guy performance as the two-faced
ex-CIA man who recruits Wahlberg only to feed him to the dogs mid-mission.
The film's
attention to detail is also another plus; almost every detail pertaining
to marksmanship and guns is on display and very authentic. It adds
a great sense of realism to the piece and adds value to the film
that wouldn't otherwise be there. The film has some sweeping visuals
(particular the opening scenes) and is well constructed. Overall,
well done in all departments.
